- Go to your state department of employment security. Make application. Most states have websites with lots of information.
- From your state employment dept. It is your earning history and nature of dismissal from the last job that determines eligibility.
- were you terminated from a job recently? that's when you should have filed for unemployment. google "your state unemployment". if you have just graduated from school and never worked, you are not eligible for unemployment comp in the US -
- My guess is that you have not worked during the last year, but only have been looking for jobs. If that is correct you are not eligible for unemployment insurance. It is there if you lost a job, not if you cannot find one.
