  1. there are many formats for resumes, try checking your word processing program for the various formats.. basically all it needs is to be easy to read and understand, while conveying the pertinent information... if I were you, I'd not include the part about your 62% and 74%... you got the job done, nobody needs to know you did poorly... I always hate when people dont include references with their CV, and put "available upon request"... just include the darn info for them.. lol
  2. I own a software company and do a significant amount of hiring. We review hundreds of CVs. A few quick comment. First, your cover letter / email will actually have as much impact for us as your CV. I wrote a blog post on this when hiring our business manager last year (linked in resources). I need to be able to scan your resume and find what I want to know in less than 10 seconds. I usually get handed a pile of 30-100 so I move fast. If I am interested, I will actually read it. Therefor, make it as easy to scan as possible and you should highlight a few key points. Start with section headers: Specialization or Goal, Work Highlights, Education, Skills. Here is what I look for in QA engineer: a) skill sets (what languages and systems you know and have experience in) - I mean a list not a sentence. b) work experience - of school otherwise. btw - ditch the grades unless they are world class - I don't actually care. c) one thing that makes you human and interesting (not about coding) Here is an example from my old resume from when I was still coding (about 8 years ago). Specialization: Over the past 6 years, I have developed systems which merge information and technology to reach a broader target audience. This has manifested itself primarily in the educational arena.
