  1. Have you tried the school board? You will need a license for the state of Colorado.
  2. look up the colorado department of education. you need to apply for a license with them. most states do have reciprocity. you may to take a class or two, but i doubt they'd make it hard on you. certified teachers are badly needed! i am sure they will take your CA license.
  3. You can teach there for a year, which is how much time you have to get Colorado certification.
  4. You didn't say what your CA credential is for (primary or secondary) and if you have any other specializations. But the specific answers you need can be found at http://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeprof/Licensure_FirstTimeApp.asp Reciprocity exists, but bear in mind reciprocity does not mean equality in terms of what is fully accepted. But the web link above is your key....just go to the section for Out of State folks are you will see where you stand. Other things to ask: 1) any critical shortages where CO has initiated "emergency" credentialing that you might qualify for and get into the classroom and paid to teach faster? 2) salary typically varies by district...so do some homework to see what the ranges are, and get copies of the salary schedules and how you might be placed on the schedule? 3) are there any special incentive pay programs (i.e. bilingual, special ed, etc.) that you might qualify for and earn extra pay. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
