What are the prerequisites for becoming a smoke jumper in California or Colorado?

I am a volunteer firefighter in Georgia looking to become a smoke jumper. I have originally planned to move to California, but have been told that Colorado is a good choice as well. All I need is to know what is necessary to fulfill my plans.
