Where in Houston TX can I go to get a job search assistance from the government?

I know there is unemployment benefit where they will pay your previous income for 2 weeks until you get a job. But who does that search? Is there such a Government program where they will try to help you get a job? If so, where in Houston can I go to get my interview so they would help me find a job? what are teh requirements? What if Im not from Houston per se but lives there? just give me as much info as much as possible, I need a job.
