Decent salary for Executive Assistant?
I'm going to start my job search to become an executive assistant. I'm really good at multi-tasking and following directions and I enjoy admin stuff to help offices run smoothly. What should I expect salary wise working for a CEO of CFO of a company. Right now I am an admin asst at a doctors office and I make 28k. But I am working towards my Bachelors. I live in Georgia also.

- it depends on the size of the company and the boss you follow around. Until you get your bachelor's i would not expect tops 40K. However, when you get your degree, that may go up depending on what you got your degree in, what school it came from and what your major was. In my honest opnion, i think if you have a bachelor's degree you should be doing something more than being an Executive assistant.
- I work for a CEO and I get about 35K. Just depends on how big the company is. And for the person who answered first, some people I know with a Bachelor's don't even have a job. So having a degree doesn't automatically mean a lot of money. It depends on what your degree is in.
- Hi, As the other responders say, it depends in multiple variants. But just for a very rough range in Georgia (e.g. Atlanta) it would be $29,900 to $ 40,00, naked salary (before benefits, etc.). Now, this possibly does not exactly reflect what YOU would earn, as I had to imagine city, industry, years of experience etc. I have been an Executive Assistant-Bilingual for over 20 years. And I tell you, same position but different countries, or even here in the States, different cities make a lot of difference in your total pay. One site I have found pretty accurate is payscale dot com. Take a look, it is a good research site for salaries (e.g. are you being paid well or not in your current job compared to other people in your area-job position??; comparison: in what side of the salary range is the salary you've been offered for a new job/position ??(low, average - high), and specially, as to your question: what you can expect salary wise on a new job???? I did a little research for you and although I had to guess a lot of answers, this is what I got: Example: For an Executive Assistant, in Atlanta, GA, with 3 years of administrative experience, a quite good performer (they call this a 3- go figure), in her 1st year as Exec. Assist., for a C-level manager, in the banking industry, the salary ranges (before benefits, bonuses, etc) are: LOW: $29,951 HIGH: $$48.920 Average 56% of Exec. Assist have a salary of $38,982 to $40,000. For a more exact idea, you can go to the site www payscale.com, but do the FREE profile. There are also a bunch of good resources to help you with your quest!!! NOTE: They try to redirect you to their PREMIUM Salary Report. DON'T pay anything, you can still get ALL the information you need from all the free reports you are allowed to access. Hope this help, and lots of luck!!!!
- You have experience. How proficient are you in all of the MS Office products and possibly Word Perfect? You can google the Occupational Outlook Handbook. It is a government website and offers free information on salary. Depending on the company and your skills, you could make as little as you are making now or up to $50 or $60k. However, the higher salaries are usually given to those with years of experience and those that already have their Bachelors. Start researching companies you are interested in and see what they generally offer.
