- Careers should not be about money, but rather about personal passion. My advice: find something that you adore, something that you can imagion yourself doing day-in and day-out and when you find that something, then browse through monster.com or something to that nature. There are many jobs out there for those who did not venture to college, but it should not matter the income that you earn, it should be the passion. Because you cannot learn passion in college, so by having that initial passion - you can surpass those who went to college and be able to earn substantial income as you desire.
- Quite often you have to work your way up in a company. (Start at entry level first....). The only way to make great money right away is if you know someone who works for the Automakers (Ford, GM, etc), or if you are from Canada in the Steelmaking factories that are unionized in Hamilton. Truck driving for the right firm is good too but you will have to pay money upfront to get your truck driver's license. Also, look at Workopolis. I found a job through there that lead to permanence and to a very good salary after a year and a half. http://workopolis.com/
- If you are starting with just salary, find some jobs you may be interested in and go to www.salary.com to find some salaries and jobs that match up. You are basically looking for about a $40k or so job with those numbers. Retail Sales may get you there or any other kind of professional sales position may be your best bet. The salary may be lower though the commission is where you will make your money and go over the $40k. Other ideas: Bartender, Waiter at high end restaurant, UPS/FedEx driver or start your own business that interests you. Good luck!
- i have been in the medical field for 25 years and I am looking for a job. I would like to work at home, doing billing for anything in that field or any related field. Could anyone help me? Barbara B
