How does one search for a engineering job that allows one to work 4-10hour days a week or such?

1. you don't - you work 5 days a week like everyone else
2. It's not the job, it the Company.
3. Honestly, I think you'd need to either just keep reading the job postings or go to individual company websites. I would think that it would be a "benefit" that they'd advertise in looking for qualified candidates. If their posting doesn't say anything about it, then the assumption has to be it is a M-F job. Most companies, in my experience (I'm an engineer for 10+ years now) most companies do not alter their official working hours. And I don't think after they've taken the time to bring you in is the time to bring up the question of "when do you usually work?" Or, if you happen to go through a recruiter, you could tell them of your needs as well.
