Jobs as a Taekwondo Instructor in Canada?

I have been teaching English in Korea for 3 years, and it's time to move home to Canada. I'm going to bring my Korean boyfriend with me, and his profession is a Taekwondo Master. His English is great...we were hoping to find him work in a Canadian taekwondo institute...but I have done a million and one different kinds of internet searches as well as job searches (Monster, Alljobs, etc etc etc) and I can't seem to find anything at all. Not even a bite. He can obviously work doing something else, but we were really hoping he could continue on in taekwondo. Does anyone have any advice, experience, or knowledge about taekwondo schools in Canada that might hire Korean masters or instructors from abroad? We don't necessarily need someone to sponsor him, although if that happened, it would certainly be awesome and save a lot of headache going through the process on our own. Please, someone give me some good news or details!!!

  1. I'll give him one in utah (usa) too bad I'm not in Canada. let me know if you are interested lisvad86@yahoo.com
  2. Open up a gym. Where i am from we have very impractical Gym's and Dojos. I'm sure smaller places as well have the same problem we do here. I am hoping to open a Dojo somewhere in southern alberta if you are looking for a buisness partner you should contact me. I am young but very ambitious and have been training in martial arts since i was even younger. I am trained best In Kung-Fu and was hoping to learn real Taekwando. So it would as well bea venture i could gain from. the best way to get a hold of me is through my email @ psycho_fred_79@hotmail.com
  3. Go to the dojos/dojangs in the area...Gyms...etc. Or see if he can contract with a gym to open his own. Maybe share space with another studio (BJJ for instance) and share his earnings with the other studio.
