  1. 22
  2. my uncle is almost 55 and he still search and rescues and fights fires.
  3. maybe 50-55
  4. Depends on health, I retired at 52 because my back gave out.
  5. It depends on how physically fit you are. You could be 60 but as long as youre still able to do your job it would be ok
  6. probably mid 50's... depends on phsical conditioning & health... look at jack lalane! he is still buff!
  7. I have worked beside men in their 50's that are active firefighters. Although all of them fight for a "higher up" position....which non are Desk jobs. Just the ones barking orders on the fire scenes. The only desk job I can think of is the Fire inspecter.
  8. You can never be too old. I know many Fire Fighters and many are different ages... Some as Rookies and some have the time under the belt. In all honesty? You need to be able to pass the tests that are required to be a Fire Fighter. Good Luck!!
  9. It depends on your body, cuz you have to see if your still fit for the job, some people are in a great condition and are 50 or 60 years old and some people that are maybe only 30 or 40 have some back problems sooo if you are havung problems with your body meaning pain and stuff, its time to quit
  10. I was taught at the Vermont Fire Academy to resign when I think I know all there is to the job. 22, my ass.
