  1. If you still want to do spec ops the navy would be your best bet but to stick with search and rescue completely you might want to go coast guard. the only problem is with Ops is it will take some time to get in so you might want to think on that clearly
  2. If that's what you want to do then definitely join the Navy. You will go to Pensacola and go to Rescue Swimmer School. When you graduate you are usually attached to some sort of helicopter or aircraft squadron. If you want information talk to your local Navy recruiter.
  3. The air force has pararescue, they're about the toughest the AF gets. I was on a base with the guys that were in training. They carry around a rough sack all day, do crazy stuff like wade in the water for hours with all their gear, they have to do push up (with the sack on) when entering and leaving a building. I'm not sure what they do, but I know it encludes flying and diving. There's OSI, you get to wear civil cloths and have a beard and long hair. You do internal investigations.
  4. I'm in the Navy and so this is slightly biased but I'll be honest. If Rescue Swimmer is your passion go CG I have two friends who are Rescue Swimmers and they love it but they mostly drill and workout (not a bad life at all) but the CG gets the majority of the calls. Regardless of your choice be prepared for a long training pipeline before you ever see any "action." Now my real biased portion...look into Navy EOD. We go through the same school as every other branch with the addition of dive, jump, and tactical school.
