Looking for a museum/ historic site job in Maine?
I have a masters degree in psychology and a museum studies certification. I have experience working in history museums as an educator, interpreter and site manager. What I would love to find is a year 'round job managing an historic property. Anybody in Maine hiring?

- If you don’t have the best answer until now, why don’t´ you try on http://www.google.com ? good luck. . . .

- You've probably exhausted the basic internet search. If not, start there. Google "Maine Jobs", "Historic Preservation", etc. You'll find sites like this: http://www.jobsinme.com/ After that, start thinking about what skills you'd like to develop over the next year or two. What are you most interested in learning? What would you like to add to your resume? Look for opportunities that relate to the field you're interested in if there's nothing directly available now. Most museum/nonprof jobs require writing skills, grant-writing, fund-raising, etc. Do you have a background in that or could you develop those skills? Consider moving to the area in which you hope to find a job. If you start with working for one nonprofit agency you will likely make the connections you'll need to move to the more ideal one. Also look at state jobs. You're in a competitive field, but the job is out there-- you just need to stay alert and put yourself in the best possible position to find it. Best wishes.
