How will I get to find addiction treatment centers in Augusta, Maine?
I really want to become an addiction counselor someday. I figured that if I ask around at various addiction treatment centers, I'd know what their requirements are. I'm also trying to see if I could get an internship there or a part-time job.

- Oh, that's a really noble dream you have. I really hope that you succeed in attaining that. I don't know about internships or part-time jobs in addiction treatment centers. Do you have a background in psychology? If so, there are some that might be willing to take you in. I think they require counselors to take up a program or some courses in addiction counseling first before they become qualified. Anyway, the links below can help you in finding treatment centers. Good luck!
- You could ask at Maine General Medical Center. The Waterville campus has a psychiatric ward that deals with addiction. There's also a psych ward in Lewiston. If you haven't taken any psych courses, it's not too late to sign up at UMA! They don't stop registration until add/drop week in September. Good luck!
