Can anyone recommend an employer that is currently hiring IT or banking staff without a background check?
Unfortunately stupid choices in my teen years resulted in felony convictions for bad checks. This is not a representation of my current moral character and I have successfully held employment in both the financial and information technology areas since the conviction. I also have executive level management experience. None the less, I find that in the current job market, the conviction seems to be more of an issue than previously. Any suggestions on companies that value the employee over the background check? I am willing to relocate nationally, and am willing to accept a lower starting salary to get my foot in the door. Any suggestions are appreciated.

- Wow. I think banking will be extremely difficult for you to get into without a background check. I think your best approach, if that is absolutely your career choice, is to be up front about it. You really cannot hide your background. Tell your potential employer about your past, how it concerns you, and how you have reformed, and most of all how you will be a better banker because of your past. Be clever in your arguments and sincere.
- let me ask you - would you want people having access to your personal financial/secure data info without a background check ? I wouldn't. No one in their right mind would be comfortable with a convicted felon who has offenses in the areas you have working around their most sensitive areas. Be realistic. Look into another line of work. Stop expecting businesses who depend on dependable people with clean records to bend to your demands. Nothing personal - it is definitely business.
- I understand the US Army needs good trainees for the IT field. They are currently allowing entry to a limited number of enlistees with your background. Might be a chance to put your past behind you?
