Will a criminal record hurt my chances of being selected for a job?

It was not a felony offense........just a mist. due to a domestic situation.

  1. YEAH!!!
  2. depends on what type of job your looking for. if you have to be bonded like working at a bank or something like that then yes it would hurt you. but if you want to flip burgers then no.
  3. depends on the job but generally any job that does a background check (and many do now a days) anything your record will hurt you
  4. It really depends on the job. However, the best advice I have for you is to be very honest about your convictions. That will tell alot more about you than the record itself. Also, most employers are more worried about felonies than misdameanors!
  5. yes
  6. It depends on the gravity of the offense and type of work your going into.
  7. DUUHHHHHH!
  8. ANy appllication that i know of will ask about criminal history. BUT..most of them specify what needs to be reported. MOST OF THE TIME it is ONLY felonies that you need to tell them about. When u sign a jon application you give consent for your prosepective employeer(S) to do a background check through the BCA (Bureau of Criminal Aprehension). Anything that happened as a minor is sealed....after 18 anything will be available to them. But if you havnt commited a felony, then select NO on the application, and you should be fine.
  9. I have hired many people with misdemeanors on their record. Depending on the position you will be hired for, any violence in your background might worry the employer. Go to counseling/anger management....or in some other way, try to show that you have grown up and have faced what you did and that you feel assured it will not happen again. Nor worries.
  10. it depends on the type of job your applying for, if the employer thinks it will affect your ability to work with others then it will affect you.
