Is there a way to find out if a base has your job?

Ive heard that the "dream list" you are given to select your bases you would like to be stationed at after Tech School are often bogus because people select bases that their job doesnt even go to, so how can you find out what bases actually have your job? I am enlisting in the Air Force if that helps any.

for a new soldier the wish list is complete BS... just do the wish list and accept your first assignment what ever it is.. in time when you have more rank and time you will have more power over your assignments... if you check the internet you can find out what types of units are at certain bases. If you are an administrative or logistical job.. you can pretty much go anywhere
Dream List? in your dreams, they will never give it to you, they will put you where ever they need you most, i asked for japan and cali and they gave me Norfolk, Va
go for parts of the country or parts of the world..that way you wont be so disappointed...the only base we actually got that we wanted was no hope pope when we came back from japan how we got one of four slots we will never know...we didnt ask for japan we had alaska and england down..lol and because we had pacific theater we got japan..was a great assignment...and its what you make of your duty assignment..try to find something great about it while you are there
