what does it mean when an employers says, your application has not been selected yet. did i not get the job?

i went into ups for 2 interviews. on the 2nd they told me they would call me in 2-3 days for orientation. 2 weeks later i called them back and they told me "my application has not been selected at this time." does this mean i didnt get the job?

1. You didn't get the job but they may consider you if someone else bails out on them. Don't give up hopes yet, someones has to give you a job sooner or later.
