Who does the job search? (When choosing 4 jobs + apt area)? After I put down my 4 jobs plus my aptitude area, who makes the decision about what job I get (when one is available)? Does the recruiter do this? Does the [job counselor] at MEPS do this?
Employer has last paycheck for 3 weeks. I lost my daycare. Cant search 4 jobs. Check $881. Small Claims Court? My last day of work was Nov30Th. I was supposed to get my final paycheck on the 14Th of Dec and it’s now Dec 30th, and I had to cancel daycare stopping me from looking for another job. Can I take him to small claims since check is $881.50, and hold them responsible for me not being able to search forjobs?

Chances of boss comparing Resume to U-4 for Securities Analysis jobs-can I get away with lying on job history? From 1996-2001, I held 4 jobs in the mortgage industry with a tenure of 6-18 months per job. This is killing my job search because it shows I'm a job hopper, as several recruiters have pointed out. I'm considering consolidating those 4 jobs into one job listing with one out of business former employer, showing employment with them from 1996-2001; the responsibilities were the same in all jobs, so I wouldn't be lying about what I did, just who I did it for. I want to work in Securities Analysis- I have an MBA and took the Level I CFA exam in June. My concern is I already filed a U-4 with the NASD which shows my true job history. What are the chances an employer will compare my resume to the U-4 that gets transferred to them? Don't spout crap about, "Lying on your resume is wrong"...I've been honest on my resume and since I got my MBA the best job I could get was making $11.75/hour; I've travelled throughout the country looking for work with no results using my true resume

UK - Why does the job centre search for jobs for you which will not support your family? please read on;? I took my Hgv1 licence, my Health and safety level2 and have gained over 12yrs experience delivering everything from explosives to fuel to bread and paper. I have had an ADR licence 3 times and a hiab and an access reach platform demonstrator's licence- in the last 6yrs I have paid around £60,000 in tax by doing all the work I could so I've proven I am not idle and not against further education - in fact whilst I've been unemployed (through saying I wouldn't break the law) I've endorsed my O'level maths with an Adult numeracy level 2 and retaken health and safety at work level2 and passed both with flying colours. THEN- I visit my local job centre where they want to give me jobs that mean the government will have to pay me tax credits and we'll lose our house. I have 4 children and normally earn between 30 and 40g a yr so that I don't have to sponge off the tax payer- which being on the dole is exactly what I am doing- agreed - The job centre want me to take employment that I have no real experience in and pays half or less of the earnings I was used to and bred 4 kids on. I weren't claiming anything whilst at work and can't see how they think not being able to pay as much tax and on top sponging off the state too will help the country- GET RID OF THESE IDIOTS and give us some bloody job boards like we used to have! WELL! is it best to have a 4 year degree or an associates? for law enforcemt? I have been searching job posting's and some don't require a 4 year degree. and have talked with some other officers who have told me that just the 2 year degree is plenty. what is the best to really find a good job in law enforcement. i have also been told that even with a 2 year as long as you get your time in at any police department. that they look at you the same as a person with a 4 year because of your experience.

There's no Jobs anywhere NoT even TEmp job agencies, what can I do now? I'm from CA. I went to the employment office, .. searched their job site and they pretty much have nothing for entry level people like me. Temp job agencies have 1 to 4 jobs( total) and they're mostly for super professionals. So what am I and people like me supposed to do? I have this gap in my heart, like something is always missing as if I'm searching 4 something I dont even know? I am always working on my relationship with God, almost graduating, have a job, work out, keeping good communication and respect with my family, love charity and I even tried love once in my life but turned to be abusive marriage. I have an interview with wal-mart today and i need help .? I am heading back into the work field after taking some time off from being a foster parent. If unemployed, it is best to take first reasonable offer and continue on in job search for something better? I lost my job 4 months ago as an accounting professional. I was recently offered a job, but it is not at a company I'd like to work for longer term, the job level is below my skill set and last job, and the salary is 30% lower than my last job. I'm strongly considering accepting the offer - just to work and be able to pay the bills in the meantime, and continue on in my job search for something more fitting longer term while I'm there. Although this isn't ideal, it would help me pay the bills and stay in the workforce in the meantime, and I'm not sure when the next offer would come. Any thoughts? I'm not looking for "work at home" offers/suggestions.

Do most Accounting jobs wish you to have a 4 year degree? I know that every single firm, or job in Accounting does not require a 4 year degree, however in my search, a great many of them do. I'm considering attending a 2 year Technical College over a 4 year university (I have been in one already and dislike it). Do you think that, even though a fair amount call for a 4 year degree, that only going through a 2 year school/Associates Degree would be sufficient to find a job? Also, in most major cities, do they even look this closely? As the jobs would seemingly be in more demand.
Job search frustration? I am currently in the midst of a horrendous job search. I am currently a Ph.D. student in Organic Chemistry at a well-known university in the US and am interested in consulting. I have a high GPA and high test scores as well as many publications (not bragging here). I applied about 100 jobs, got 4 interviews, and got turned down from 3 of those after the 1st interview, and from the other after 3 interviews. The firm that gave me 3 rounds of interviews is one of the best ranked firms in the business and encouraged me to apply again in the fall after more preparation. How have people here prepared for consulting interviews? Has anyone hired an interview tutor/coach? If so, has it been helpful? So far, I have gone through about 10 case interview books on my own. Also, is this just a sign that this line of work isn't for me? I was also considering going to law school to become a patent attorney. Any other thoughts? I am nearly at my wits end with this job search

How long should it realistically take to find a good job in your field? I recently moved to Chesapeake, VA so my spouse could accept a better job and I have been searching for a job for a month now. Best software 4 putting together an interactive resume for job searching that can incorporate video and text? I've tried flash, but was not really great for video. Tried Director, but am having trouble fitting documents with graphs to fit on the stage screen at a reasonable size. Basically, what i'd love is for someone to be able to navigate to my video portfolio or my professional writing portfolio, and actually be able to read the text once it appears on screen. In Director, the Video samples are fine, but it's the text-with-graphs documents that are the problem (RTF of course loses the graphs) Any help anyone can provide would be very appreciated. THanks!

Recent college grad getting frustrated with job search, what should I do? I graduated in Dec. I've been looking for jobs in my field in the city that I want to move to (where my boyfriend lives). It's getting quite frustrating trying to find something related to my major there. I've been looking since long before I graduated. I have a crappy job here but I'm not sure how much longer our relationship can stand living 4 hours away and I can't afford to have no job at all. Would I be better off doing something low paying for a while in the city I want to be in until I can find exactly what I want? I know it depends on the career, but do you think that would hurt my ability to get a good job in my major in a year or 2? I should be able to make a decent amount of money in my major, just not in the place I want to be apparently.
