What are the best job search sites for creative jobs in Canada? With startups? I am already aware of sites like monster,.ca, jobbank.gc.ca, jobboom.com, workopolis.com, working.com and craigslist. I am looking for work in the creative field--I live in Montreal and am trained in Communications so something in editing, writing, marketing, etc. I am also interesting in working with a startup. Jobs as a Taekwondo Instructor in Canada? I have been teaching English in Korea for 3 years, and it's time to move home to Canada. I'm going to bring my Korean boyfriend with me, and his profession is a Taekwondo Master. His English is great...we were hoping to find him work in a Canadian taekwondo institute...but I have done a million and one different kinds of internet searches as well as job searches (Monster, Alljobs, etc etc etc) and I can't seem to find anything at all. Not even a bite. He can obviously work doing something else, but we were really hoping he could continue on in taekwondo. Does anyone have any advice, experience, or knowledge about taekwondo schools in Canada that might hire Korean masters or instructors from abroad? We don't necessarily need someone to sponsor him, although if that happened, it would certainly be awesome and save a lot of headache going through the process on our own. Please, someone give me some good news or details!!!

Is it really IMPOSSIBLE to get a job as a foreigner in Canada? I am a software engineer from Nicaragua, always wanted to immigrate to Canada, But everyday it just seems like a lost cause or aspiration, My only option is to have a job offer and get a work permit, but getting a job in Canada from outside of Canada just seem so impossible, I searched on monster.ca, and SE if one of the most on demand usually 200 + where as Architects have like 90, but still architects are on the NOC, but IT profesions arent. I just want somebody to tell me how impossible it is, I know that most of the jobs offers come from networking so I have been trying to make some Canadian Friends online, but I fing that kind of creepy, really the only option I have is to send an applications to every Employer from monster.ca, I dont know can someone please advice me, should I just let go this dream?

Being a Social Worker in Ontario, Canada? I'm a Canadian living in NY. My husband and I may move back to Ontario next summer (we'll see). In May I am graduating with my MSW. Listen to this. Well I am Kinda new to Canada For about one month I have been here.? Well work is kinda hard to get. Since I came here. I have Been trying to find work with costi and Job search and so on other companies like them along with monster.ca. I send in a resume at Subway in lake shore. I got the work. So now i started going there and so on there for three days and then boss who's name is Yanuj. He send me home for no reason and he told me that i should pack my things and leave. I guess it is because I am East Indian mixed with Russian Type. Because he choose his own type of people to work with him and then he sent me home right away. whenI ask him whatis the problem. How to work online at home? I am looking to earn some additional money. I am specifically interested in the "work-at-home" programs which are all over the internet. However, many of these programs are scams or charge money for reports that don't even guarantee jobs. I am looking to perform data entry, act as a typist, stuff envelopes, or do any other related activity. I have excellent computer skills and access to the internet. How do i get away from my dad? well i have a twin brother as well we are both 20 now still living at home and have been searching like crazy for work, or what we want to make a career in so we can start school (college). my brother and i are up in the morning's and out looking for a job. when we are asked to do something around the house such as yard work, cleaning, or just general labor we are sure that the job is done. our dad is an alcoholic and can consume as much as a 24 case to himself in just a couple of hours. when he drinks he is a completely different person then the dad i know. (Example) tonight was one of the worse nights we have had in the past couple of weeks, we had both been up early in the morning helping some friends move and we didn't get done until around 4:30 in the afternoon, from there we went home and layed a small dump truck load of mulch and replanted some tree's and flowers in the gardens we finished around 7:00 we were tired so we went upstairs and fell to sleep we don't go to bed early often but we did today. we try to stay busy and out of the way so that are not just laying around all day doing nothing. we woke up at 10:30pm and were all out of cigarettes so we decided maybe we should run up to the store and get some. we walked downstairs outside and my dad was down the hill sitting in the hot tub. we decided to walk down the hill to say hello to him before we left to get our smokes (BIG MISTAKE!) as we approached him more we noticed all the beer cans sitting around him we knew he wasn't drunk because the man never gets drunk he just gets angry, really angry. we both proceeded in saying our hello and that we were going to make a quick run to the store. he didn't answer but he kind of growled at us i tugged my brothers shoulder and said "come on lets just get the hell out of here" as we turned our backs to him he jumped out of the hot tub and grabbed us both he turned us around and started to spit in our faces he was yelling at the top of his lungs that we were nothing to him except useless pieces of shit! he was screaming in our face to get a job! get a job! (well we live in Michigan and there isn't jobs flying off the hook here) i tried to talk with him and ask him why he is doing what he was doing he said he was doing it because he can it was his house and he can scream at 10:30 at night and wake the neighbors if he wants too. he then asked me if i liked him screaming in my face i muffled "no sir i don't" then he threw back his fist and tried to hit me but i was able to move "thank god" my brother and i are helpless when it comes to his anger he could kill us with one punch. when we tied to get away from him he yelled "if you leave now don't ever come back" so we can't leave because we won't have a place to live. we hardly have an money or we'd move, we are in desperate search for a job so that we can get out of here his anger sperts are getting worse and worse he blames us for the reasons he fights and argues with my mom. when we are hardly ever home to have anything remotely close to being a cause to his reasons to fight with my mother, he has hit us before but the verbal abuse is becoming to much to take please what should we do? how the hell can i get away from this man? keep in mind I'm 20 years old i can't scream child abuse i'm a little old for that. i can't go stay at a relatives house because they all live in Canada and i have no way of getting to them. i know this is long to have read but this is all i can do to get it out there that the man that sleeps through the walls from us is a monster. please how do we get away from this crazy man? i have thought about calling the police before but I'm afraid it will only make things worse.

How to determine you career's market value/average salary ranges.? Hi guys. I've been trying to find out the market value for my current job position. I've tried searching websites like monster.ca and workopolis.ca but very few employers list salary ranges. I'm a National Facilities Coordinator for a major retailer. I manage approximately 250 locations (55% - 60% of the chain) and I'm the secondary contact (backup coordinator) for the remaining 40% - 45%. I deal with everything from re-lamping to HVAC repairs. I'm one of only 2 people in this job role and I'd have to say the majority of my value is in who/what I know. If I'm not the right person for the job I could almost guarantee I know who the stores/area managers should be contacting. In such a large company it's a hard task to find the right person for every situation. Anyway, any thoughts on where I should be for an annual salary? Possible websites with this information? The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said slightly more than half of the influenza virus strains reported to its surveillance system are not good matches against the strains included in this flu season’s vaccine. The number of states reporting widespread flu activity jumped to 31 this week compared with 11 a week ago, the CDC said. But Dr. Joe Bresee of the CDC’s influenza division said there are no indications this flu season is worse than usual. One measure officials use to gauge the severity of the season is the number of flu-related child deaths. Bresee said the CDC has heard of six U.S. children who have died from the flu, a relatively low number compared with recent years. Flu viruses mutate and change all the time, so every year a different vaccine is created as officials predict which particular strains will circulate. The vaccine is designed to protect against three influenza strains — two from Type A, an H1N1 and an H3N2 version, and one for Type B. Bresee said about 30 percent of the overall strains of influenza in the United States may be a Type A strain that emerged in Australia called H3N2 A/Brisbane. It emerged too late to be included in the flu vaccine offered in the United States beginning in September and October. The Type B strain chosen for this year’s vaccine also was not a good match for most of the B virus strains seen in the United States this flu season, Bresee said. “While a less-than-ideal virus match between the viruses in the vaccine and those circulating viruses can reduce vaccine effectiveness, we know from past influenza studies that the vaccine can still protect enough to make illness milder or prevent flu-related complications,” Bresee said. Flu vaccines take months to make. Bresee also said some resistance is being reported to the antiviral drug Tamiflu, made by Switzerland’s Roche Holding AG and Gilead Sciences Inc of the United States. Of the viruses tested in CDC flu labs, 4.5 percent are resistant to the drug, Bresee said.
