Where could I find the list of jobs Marine officers get to select from at TBS? I am currently enlisted in the reserves and really want to go active duty officer but I desperately want intel as my MOS. I know how the MOS selection process works at TBS, all I want to know is if theres somewhere I can see exactly what MOSs are on the sheet they give you for preferences. In other words I want to see what my "fallback" MOS's could be and if it is worth the risk of getting stuck in an MOS I hate such as what happened to me on the enlisted side. Along the same lines do we just get to pick general field types such as 02 for intelligence or are there options for "ground human intelligence officer" and such. Thanks for any help.

Army reserve signal corp officer *25A) to active duty and IT Civilian jobs. Advice from Signal Corp Officers? I am a prior service NCO E-5 (11b) that will complete ROTC summer 2011 with a degree not in the IT field (International Affairs) . I have been selected for army reserve service as a Signal Officer (25A) and am currently trying to figure out what my options are to transfer to Active Duty if it is possible at all. I would like to transfer to active duty but I am not sure if it is possible or how long it would take to commission into the reserves and then transfer to active duty as a 2LT or 1LT. If it is not possible right away I would like to know what civilian jobs I would qualify for after completing the initial army signal core officer basic course training. Would I even be able to find a civilian job in the IT field with the initial training that a signal core officer would receive? Are there some sort of certifications or additional schooling/certifications I could complete to get a civilian job in this field? Would deploying as a signal officer help with transferring to active duty as an LT? If I am unable to transfer to active duty after a deployment would it look better on a resume to have a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan as a Signal Core Officer on a resume and provide addition on the job training or civilian IT training to become qualified to work in the IT field as a civilian? Are there civilian certification programs that the Army reserves provides to Signal Corp Officers because of deployments or after deployments that would help me to find a job in the IT field on the civilian side if transferring to active duty is not possible? I am trying to figure out what my next step should be to better my options. I really would like to return to active duty but if not possible then the next best thing would be to serve to the army reserves and find a civilian job in the IT field or equivalent that I would be able to obtain from the signal core.

What job opportunities does the Marines offer? I looked on the Marines website, but I cannot find a list of the available jobs to select from when enlisting. The Army website has a great selection of MOS's so I was hoping to find a site that lists the ones for the Marines. Is there such a thing, or am I stuck going and talking to a recruiter?

How do I query 2 MySQL tables from the same database? I have 2 tables, CurrentJobs and ItemTickets. Both tables have 'Reps'. I am trying to make query both tables to find out in 1 query what jobs have a certain Rep assigned to them. Here is my query that I have tried so far... SELECT * FROM CurrentJobs, ItemTickets where CurrentJobs.Rep = 'Jared' && ItemTickets.Rep = 'Jared' There are 4 rows in each table so I would think it would return 8 total rows, but it returns 16? I know it's something I don't understand about the join feature, but I tried to study different types of joins and I am even more confused. When I replied, I got an e-mail message saying I had been among 2 people selected, and that I would need to send $19.99 to the paypal account associated with e-mail address theinfoundation@yahoo.com for training material and access to their database of client work which I would then be provided access to. The e-mail message further explained that I would earn $15 to $20 per data entry form which I fill out electronically, and submit, so that I could easily earn back the money I invested. Help me decide!? How do you select between two jobs? AAA or Air Tran Customer Service? I have receeive an Job offer from AAA (auto service) and I have an interview coming up for Air Tran Airlines. I am torn because one is a job that I have been hoping for a long time and possibly only because it has travel privilages. I want to travel the world soo bad. The thing with Air Tran is I not only will be doing ticket counter but will also be assigned to baggage, lost & found, loading and unloading the planes, guiding the planes in(cool), cleaning and stocking the plane for take off, boarding the passengers, etc. This can be physically demanding the first 6 months but I get to travel or i can choose to work anywhere they fly as long as they have a open position. Now for AAA, it is sitting in a cubicle, taking calls from people, who need travel service, road service and such. The pay is great along with the benefits just like the airlines. It's very sedentary, quicker paycheck job. I must say i have been un-employed for a year beacause i had to take care of dad.

Is it true the most qualified candidates don't get selected? I believe luck plays an important roll in the lives of human being. Some people born with good luck and some with bad lucks. People with better luck tend to do "better" in many aspects. But people like myself will never feel the love no matter how hard we try. In the past, I had experiences with 3 jobs from assistant store manager to financial analyst before the economy was as dead as it is right now at this hour. Since then, the 23-year old myself will be out of work until the day I die. Here is why: 1.) I'm good at impressing my boss, but fail to get noticed 2.) Many hiring managers miss the most qualified candidates 3.) Hiring discrimination comes into play 4.) They promised to call, informed me the appointment date, then I never hear from them again 5.) I missed the interview call, which took me out of the game My uncle is a great engineer. He's been applying for jobs everyday, prepared the interviews, but never found a job ever since he got out of college in 1982.

What is the best way to cope with being "naturally selected out" - i.e. being a loser? I believe the crux of my failures is being inferior genetically and being "naturally selected out" as a result. For example, I lost my job as a result of negative office politics, and I was the weakest link and got laid off. It didn't take long for me to fall behind on rent in my apartment, and because Im genetically inferior, I'm unable to find a mate or make friends, so no one can bail me out. Essentially, my fate is at the mercy of others due to a learning disability. Too dumb to make it, yet smart enough to appear "normal" enough. I don't really qualify for aid of any sort. So I'm just bumbling, trying to find jobs which are nonexistent in this economy for someone of my inferior genetic makeup. To top it off, my stupidity is masked because being unable to find a job makes me look lazy, so no one has any sympathy (why should they?) And writing this post, it is nothing but self-pitying drivel.... and on and on. From a completely scientific standpoint, I believe that my lack of control over my life is due to a pitilessly indifferent universe combined with my inferior genes and poor intellect (+ low emotional and social IQ). Even my choices are often stupid (because I am stupid!) This is a serious question. I'm resigned to my fate. It's a jungle out there and I will be devoured by the alpha wolves. What is the best way to cope with this situation (i.e. being inferior and knowing you have no real control over your life)?

need advice on jobs and education? I've been unemployed for three years now, three long and crushingly depressive years. I graduated just before the financial crisis with a double degree in International Business and Economics, and have been stuck in limbo ever since. Whenever I apply to a basic office/business job I'm told that I'm "overqualified". However these are basically the only jobs I can apply to where I live, without these I have nothing: all jobs related to Economics require at least a Masters degree and all jobs related to International Business either require a vocational degree in expediting or a degree in Marketing. The range of jobs my university suggested I could get with my degrees simply do not exist. I have unsuccessfully applied to non-business related jobs too: window cleaner, garden worker etc. I would not mind moving to another country to get a job, but moving requires a lot of money, which I don't have, consequently this is not a realistic option. I can't do internships either where I live, if I want to do an internship with a company I have to go through my government - only they can grant me an internship. I would not qualify for it since in their eyes: a degree = a job. They don't think I actually need one, even after being unemployed for three years ! One option I have is to is to get government-sponsored training as a welder, machinist or similar. I would be very happy to do this kind of work too, but getting government approval is very difficult, only few are selected for them even though these are jobs that are in high demand in the job market. Where I live the companies do not offer apprenticeships unless they are government-sponsored. However in a years' time I should be able to scrape up enough money, from helping relatives with basic chores, to study for another year. My idea is to either take a one-year Masters in Economics at a nearby university, or switch "career" completely and study web development for a year. I hold an old diploma in programming (VB, C, Java) and have done a few courses in xhtml,css and JavaScript. I enjoyed the courses I took and thought that programming was very challenging, in a positive way. Right now I feel that studying business/economics was a huge mistake, it seemed promising at the time but now it only feels like a dead-end. In contrast there are quite a lot of jobs in web development where I live and I think I would be good at it. Unfortunately my partner decided to quit so I couldn't survive and the great end was that my husband also lost his job ! we tried to do our best to survive and find a job and be back on our feet but that was not the truth. As my husband is French, we decided to go their and try to start a new life and it was the worst Idea ever we could done in our life : we where unwelcome, resist , depressant,and all negative things we didn't at all expect . so finely one February 2010, we decided to come to UK as my husband used to work in the uk for 8 year a long time then he believed that life and career could be much butter in the uk ! and thank god we had our friends in the Uk so they helped us to start. so from February to now Thank god my husband find a job since last 6 months, but I'm still and still looking , I have been to interviews I believe 8 interviews and no chance, some of them said that we gives the position to someone who is already from the company and I find the answer stupid because why would you put a position in the market if you will be considering someone from the company ? first see who deserve the position form you employees then if you don;t find target the market!!!!! and the rest they didn't bother to answer at all !!!! and some they said will we recruit British only !!!! I'm keeping my head Up and looking and posting for jobs and also i contacted a career advisers, they all says ; wawww great CV Great qualification , you speak 4 languages, you communication is great , you have the confidence and the eye contact ! an sorry we can;t do much for you but you just need to be patients and something positive will come ! Finding jobs and grad schools? My older sister already has two great part-time jobs and she gets paid quite a bundle. However, I just graduated with a Master's degree and I am currently looking for a job. I am broke. Whenever I apply for a job and my sister finds out, she will apply for the same job, sometimes turning in her application within minutes of me. She wasn't trying to get another job while I was in school, but now she keeps applying for the same jobs. If I don't tell her which ones I'm applying for, she will snoop, eavesdrop, or whatever until she does find out. She is also doing this with grad school applications. She applies to the same grad schools that I'm applying to within minutes of my application. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem. However, we look a lot alike, have the same address, our cell phone numbers are just a few digits apart, etc. We sound a lot alike over the phone also. I think that this is confusing potential employers because they probably think that we are the same person. What "extra" do they teach at IIM compared to other colleges?is life success guaranteed if we are from IIM? MBA is nowadays lot less demanded than an Engineering degree. I myself did a full-time MBA from an AICTE approved college but after passing find that I gained so little knowledge to tackle the world!! I am from the Science field so I also felt that MBA is more suited to Commerce people. Many challenge me saying how Engineers are successfully doing their MBA. To this I say that good colleges reserve 5% of the seats in each class for engineers & I myself experienced while I was in college that they are given good marks deliberately and they easily pass. And as far as I feel after reading newspapers those guys getting hefty salaries after passing out from IIM's are mostly from rich families (bureaucrats, businessman or politicians).There are exceptions though and they are already very able since most of them have already done Engineering or CA or Law or something very valuable degree,so no question that they are selected in CAT and get very high-paid jobs after passing out from IIM's. Should I avoid or cut-off this girl? I find that I tend to agree to accompany people on things I don't want to do, but they never return the favor. I always tell myself not to make such a fuss over it, but doesn't this show how little I mean to them? As one example there was this one friend who always chose how we spent our time. I am an easygoing person but my patience has waned. It isn't only which movie to watch or where to dine (btw she never pays), but what we speak about. When she is going through a problem I console her, even when she's been fired for legitimate reasons or when slander she's spread has gotten her into trouble. In the rare moment I speak of myself she shrugs off my concerns and moves the subject to herself of something frivolous like celebrity culture. I used to be close with her years ago, when we were younger and her behavior didn't drain me. I am now older I can't keep listening the garbage shes fed me for years. I can't justify how I can spend time with her. Her one redeeming quality WAS that she used to be fun, despite the meanness, but now she's lost that. She's literally got nothing. Not humor, not any experiences apart from gossiping. Not light gossip which everyone does, but she ruins reputations and makes up wild stories. While my friends and I (ppl she doesn't know) are taking trips, having fun and being young etc- she's still blaming others, getting fired, and not doing anything when funnily enough she has it easier than the rest of us. Does anyone know about John Robert Powers School or IPOP? My neighbor's daughter has been attending JRP school in Tampa Fl. She has been chosen to attend the International Presentations of Performers (IPOP) this summer. Does anyone know anything about either organization. Her mother says it is going to cost $4000 for the daugher and around $2000 for herself. She has asked me to see what I can learn about both of these organizations and whether or not this is some sort of scam. job fustrations, dont listen if you are just going to put me down? After going through so many job applications and surveys and suchy such... I have a pretty good idea of how to answer theses things. Questions like: It is okay for an employee to steal if it is an inexpensive item- Strongy agree, agree, disagree, strongy disagree. Do people really answer these things wrong??? And theres so many questions about your personality, and your mind, and how you think things should be handled. I understand what kind of dependable, mentally stable people they want working for them but.... lets just say someone who is depressed, abused as a child, low self confidence, not a leader, not very good social skills... etc.. lets say they need a job to... feed their child or pay their car payments. How will they get a job?? Should they lie and select the answers they know employers want to hear? Does anybody else see what I'm saying? I am trying to find my best option with my degrees. what is my best option? I have 3 degrees, two with Honors. I got an Associate's in Applied Science Magna cum Laude, then a Bachelor's in Human Biology (just average grades), then a Bachelor's in Business Administration with Honors (cum laude). I also have been Student Youth Leaders in college, got select for an International Honor Society; and have over 27 credit hours in Accounting classes (I mention this because a lot of the government jobs require this). So my younger brother, who got lesser grades than me and never even graduated high school got hired in the Department of Defense and is making $41,000 a year, full benefits, and they paid for his move to Michigan. I applied later for the same job and had an interview a week and a half ago. I haven't heard back from them. I've been applying to other jobs with no luck. So what are my options here? I want to find a good job, I owe a ton of money in student loans and am off insurance and I think I have a cavity or two with my teeth. I'm starting to think I wasted all my money in college and that it all comes down to luck. So I ask you all, what sort of job should I be applying for? Unemployment question refused job and now filing this weeks continued claim..? I was honest, and after accepting a job offer, and then after finding out the facts about the job told them I couldnt do the job. So any how I was honest and during my continued claim process, selected yes that I refused a job. Bad me. So they give a small area online to explain why, not nearly enough room. It says to call and give any additional info. The lines are busy for hours, so I find a number to someone involved with the program at a higher level that gives me his fax number and he said he will get the information added in, and since hes of a high position I dont doubt he did that, he had me call him to make sure hed recieved the faxes and he had. So I guess the automated system kicked me a letter reminding me to call and report additional info. Its time now to do the file a continued claim while waiting to see if UI accepts or denies my reasons for ending the job before it even started. the company had already recieved via email the acceptance of offer, faxed I9 and proof of noterized view of social security card and drivers liscence. Is a college degree a disadvantage? I am beginning to believe it. I graduated with an MBA from a decent university this past fall and I have 3 years of factory supervision under my belt...but I can't seem to find a career/job. I need help selecting a future career.? I need help picking a future job. I'm a junior at high school and I don't have any future plans.. much. Selected for the Air Force 09OT04 board but not sure what to do? Hello, I am a new possible member to the US Military but I have a conundrum. In addition to being selected for the Air Force I received a very nice offer from NAVAIR to work for them starting next month and I am trying to make a decision. NAVAIR has offered me 61000 to work for them and it would start next month where as the Air Force has informed me it may take up to a year from me to star OTS and therefore get payed! I feel that the air force is a more noble path but, *play the worlds smallest violin here*, waiting a year seems harsh. I was told by my RO that there will be no assistance between here and OTS for me which could be upwards of a year and as a Physics M.S. finding a job for a year is nuts. Then - what is the probability of success (finding a teenage who has a p-t job)? Finally - what is x, the number of successes that we are looking for? This gets a little more complicated because it is not a single value here. Look at the wording - "at least 3". What are the possible values of x?

Hello. Can anyone explain the reasons behind all of these crazy Emails I continually receive from strangers ? I'll tell you, It's Nuts ! For nearly 6 months now, I have been bombarded with these insane messages from people from around the World and ALL are total strangers. Let's see, I have been notified that I was selected as winner in a Lottery probably 12 times and all different contests with a total winning amount around 30 million and often in British pounds. I have been contacted multiple times from financial persons in Uganda or South Africa or Kenya...etc and all invite me to enjoy 10 to 30 percent of multiple millions of dollars by simply accepting a courier's package. There have been countless Legal representatives from dead or near dead persons with no family and I am asked to stand in and accept the massive inheritance to avoid government seizure with my pay at 30 percent. There have been a dozen messages from very wealthy people soon to die from illness and want to make amends by donating their fortunes to charity which I am asked to oversee...30 percent...etc. I have gotten messages from Nokia and Honda and Microsoft that advise me of my new found wealth and today, I got one that had a twist. It was a job offer from a company in China that wanted me to act as an accounts receivable clerk that would save them a lot of tax payments and I'd get 10 percent just because I am such a lucky rascal? OK so one day im driving to pick my wife up from work, we had just moved to a new town and i still had not found a job, so i am stressed about bills and had some typical family and future problems stressing me out too and making me really unhappy. Sooo I decided to start praying just asking God to help give me some comfort, direction, and just a sense of calmness, let me know that everything will be alright. So i get done with that, and arrive at my wifes work, while im waiting i pick up my iphone to play a game and on the screen is this: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I couldnt believe it personally, it felt like a smack in the face. According to this statistical investigation, a great proportion (about 40%) of the students in Turkey, despite possessing proper qualifications to continue their studies and to attend universities and colleges of higher education, have to leave their education after finishing their high schools, and only less than 20% of these aspiring students are able to find a job after graduating from their schools, and this can cause many psychological complications and issues such as their depression, and at the best case, their isolation from the social activities which may affect their prosperity and future responsibilities. The statistics of my investigation illustrated that the main reasons why so many high school graduates have to leave their studies in that level are one or a combination of the following: -The first reason which about 80% of high school graduated students mentioned, was insufficient number of schools and universities for higher education, especially governmental universities that have affordable expenses in compared to private institutes and universities. Also the very limited capacity of accredited universities in Turkey versus a large population of universities’ applicants. -The second reason which more than 60% of students cited among their reasons was the location of universities in most of cities and long distances that make them to spend a lot of time to be able to attend them. Having to take long distances and spending too much time in commuting between their work places, universities and their habitats or having to select the second choice of living in remote cities, with the minimum equipments were among these reasons. -More than 48% of these students were not able to arrange to have regular presence in the educational classes due to the fact that many of them had responsibilities of their own or even their family’s living expenses and in some other cases their occupational programs were not matched or adjusted with the arranged curriculum and times of the classes in universities. -And finally, about 18% of students mentioned the low number of universities which can offer education with high quality and their deficiencies in providing students with proper equipments suitable for certain educational fields. Some of them also mentioned students’ dissatisfaction of traditional style of education and standards of teaching and assessing in current traditional method of learning. Questions about joining Navy? Hey there, I'm 19 years old and I'm interested in joining the Navy but I find that its hard to get the correct answers from my recruiter I'm currently talking to. I would like to join as an Aviation Electrician and they are planning to send me to milwaukee, wisconsin (I live in green bay) to the meps station to take the asvab and take my physical and to swear in... all within a two day period. Shouldn't I be able to take the asvab somewhere near my house so that I can examine my qualifications for job preference?? Do I have to swear in right away when they send me there? Is there a guarantee that I will get the job I prefer? He said that the best thing to do is to just sign up for a job if the one i want isn't available and then they will try and find a way to get me into my selected job while I am in the delayed entry program. That just doesn't sound legit to me. Like its possible that they just need people to sign up for crap jobs because nobody else does. My Employer did not withold enough from my W2, what do I do? Basically at one of my jobs (I had 3 last year), I earned roughly 3,300, but only about $44 was witheld.
