Why do HotJobs, Monster, & CareerBuilder only offer jobs in hospitality, marketing, & sales? I can't seem to find what I qualify for. & also, you have to have good credit or have a good driving record. Or they always require SOME qualification I don't have. I have a learner's permit since I moved to Texas & have to take the driving test all over again. & they also want you to have a dependable car, which I don't have. & they want experience. I have almost no job experience.

Phony jobs from careerbuilder and/or monster? Ever since i posted my resume on those sites, i've been getting emails in similar format and say that based on my accounting experience (which i don't have), i would qualify for those jobs. This isn't really a question but a comment really.
What are good sites or other places to find jobs besides Craigslist, Monster, or Careerbuilder? I'm a graphic designer with over 6 years experience creating packaging, layout, brochure, and other print and production designs for various companies in a wide range of industries. All I want is a livable wage or even someone who needs a freelancer who will actually pay the person after the job is delivered. I've been using elance.com, but apparently after the first few submissions free accounts can't apply for anything else.

How come all you see in websites for jobs is "sales, retail, work from home"??? It's funny that couple years ago used to find good jobs in Careerbuilder, Monster, Craigslist... but now all I see (and not just me, that's something me and my friends were talking about the other day)is sales, retail... the "work from home" thing, that tells you you'll be making some unreal amount of money in a month... ??? I also have a hard time finding "big companys"'s post online. You have to go to theyr website and get lucky to find job offers. Does anyone have any idea in how to get more information of "real" and "good" job offers... ? ps: most of people I know is going through a bad time financially right now... any ideas? Thanks guys. RioGuy.
have you noticed all the scam jobs lately? Have you noticed that more than half of careerbuilder, craigslist-jobs etc are all scam jobs. I cant even use them anymore because its not worth the time to sift through the scams to find an actual job poster. Don't you think some of these sites should start denying well known scam-job posters?
Has anyone had any luck finding jobs with either one of these websites? careerbuilder.com or job.com? I'm only asking because anytime I ever "apply online" it takes me through all these motions and then starts asking about furthering education. Then I get phone calls from admissions counselors and it feels like a big waste of time, like these job listings aren't even real.

How is networking a better strategy than finding jobs online on careerbuilder.com and sites like that? I hear people say sites like careerbuilder.com and monster.com are a waste of time...... They say about 98% of jobs are unadvertised.......... How do you find unadvertised jobs? I hear people say "networking....sending resumes out to potential employers"............. What I don't understand is: How is it that sending resumes out to random employers just "in case" a job opening comes up............. How is that a better strategy than applying for a specific position online? At least when you're applying on line, you know for sure that there's a particular opening in mind. When I'm applying online, there is a specific job title and a specific purpose. That makes me feel a lot better than just sending resumes out to random companies hoping they will find an opening and call me up.
Are job search engines such as monster.com or careerbuilder.com the best way to find jobs? How else would I find a job or get a company to hire me? I applied for a job via Careerbuilder. The employer listed their phone number. Is it okay to call? I applied for the job on the evening of January 19th so they wouldn't have gotten it until the 20th. I don't want to make a bad impression by being too pushy or desperate. Careerbuilder states that it's gotten an average number of applicants. Should I call and if so, when should I call? Thanks in advance for your help :)

Applying for jobs on careerbuilder.com? If you find a job that you want to apply for, it says to upload your resume and cover letter and they will forward it to the employer. Does this really work? It's been a while since I've looked for a job ... back in the day you contacted the employer directly. So is this now normal (to upload your resume via a third-party website)? Does it actually work? Or would I be better off trying to find the employer's mailing address or email address and contacting them directly? Any experience with this, guys?

I am currently unemployed and along with going out there and looking I have been visiting several job and career websites such as monster, snag a job, careerbuilder and hotjobs. Any tips for finding jobs other than filling applications at stores, Craigslist, Monster and Careerbuilder? I am a young unemployed new immigrant in the U.S, without any profession (I’ve mostly been a solder). I am searching for minimum wage jobs within the North Chicago area. Job searching in the states is much harder and time consuming: • All the employment agencies weren’t able to help me out because I have no profession or previous job experiences. • Filling store applications just takes too long (a lot of intrusive questions) and hasn’t proved to be effective because it just takes too much time and effort to apply for all the stores in my area. • Most of the job offers on the online job sites (Craigslist, Monster and Careerbuilder) are irrelevant because the employers are searching for trained or experienced professionals. I have skills in Photoshop and building websites but as far as I understand, because I did not study it and have a work experience in that field, no employer would hire me to work doing that. Any ideas of other actions I could take to find a full-time job?
What is the connection between Monster and Careerbuilder and online colleges? Hi All, I have often wondered what the connection is between Monster and online schools (colleges). You cannot enter or leave the website without passing through a form inquiring if you want to register to attend X online university. Ditto for CareerBuilder. Are these job boards owned by a college consortium of some sort? Thanks.

Have you used an online job site (careerbuilder, hotjobs, monster) and actually got a job? I've been using all three for a couple months and I'm skeptical. It seems most listings are recruiters that make you fill out one of their profiles. And alot of times when I apply I get an automatic response from an ebot. Does anyone have a success story?
I applied for a job on careerbuilder a week before Christmas.Do companies wait until the 1st of the Yr to hire? I applied for a great job oppurtunity with all of the correct requirements a week before Christmas. It had been posted on Career Builder since Nov. 20, and just recently expired last week. My dad said most companies wait until the first of the year to do their hiring process when looking for a new hire that close to the end of the year.
I have a resume and cover letter to send for a job listing on CareerBuilder. How should I send it? The listing for this job on Career Builder has a thing where I can apply right away and electronically send both my cover letter and resume. But I feel that this will be ignored by the employer. Should I just send it through snail mail so it will get their attention better? Would it be more formal to do so? The recruiter whom I need to send these things to is located out of state btw, so I would have difficulty to send these things to them in person.
I need to know how to contact the job placement company CareerBuilder? I need to know how to contact the job placement company CareerBuilder by e-mail.

What is the best website to get an IT job besides Monster, Careerbuilder, Dice, or YahooHotJobs? If you could provide some insight that you've had not just google a website because I've done this several times and listed my resume on the top ones. Thanks, I was recently laid off b/c the company I worked for made parts, ECU Engine Boards, Traction Control Boards for the Electronic parts of Honda vehicles and the economic stimulus our government gave out doesn't help Honda or the parts suppliers.
What's the best way to find a good job? Going on Careerbuilder, etc, isn't helpful.? I need a clerical job. I don't have any office experience. I only have customer service experience for 7 years. They changed my hours indefinitely to 2 days a week for the rest of the year. And won't change them. I only make 8.45 an hour. Help please!
Why do HotJobs, Monster, CareerBuilder, etc. offer poor jobs? Like sales & business & hospitality? That's about all they offer.
Were you ever successful in applying to major job websites like Yahoo Hot Jobs, careerbuilder, monster? all the jobs on there seem fake, or are posted by recruiters and the like. Just wondered if anyone ever got jobs looking at those ads and applying for them?
Will your second resume replace your first if you apply for the same job twice on careerbuilder.com? Ok, about two weeks ago submitted my resume/cover letter for a position posted. I just updated my resume and would like to re-submit my new resume for this job. The job posting expires today, Sunday, and the customer service isn't open for careerbuilder. Anyone have any experience in this situation?
Should I remove my one marketing job form my CareerBuilder resume? I keep getting offers for interviews from companies that want sales representatives. Yes, I was a sales representative for one summer. The problem is that I just put in five years of hard work to get a degree in mechanical engineering (and I love doing engineering work), and feel that the sales offers are just clouding my true potential. It just seems dishonest to take it off, but it is also unfair to me for having to work so hard for something I wanted.
How do i make a website like myspace or careerbuilder or sugardaddy.com? I want to start something like myspace or a job thing like careerbuilder. Can someone help?
What are good sources for finding jobs in NYC? I reside in SC and will be moving to NYC in October. I am a recent college graduate with a degree in Business/Marketing. As you probably know, I will be put in a crazy situation moving to NYC (which I know nothing about), however, besides typical websites (monster, careerbuilder, etc), what are other ways of networking and finding entry-level jobs in NYC?
How can I find more jobs to apply to? I live in Michigan and we have the highest unemployment rate and the least amount of jobs. I log onto Careerbuilder, Monster, and Hot Jobs daily. I also have pulled lists off of Hoover's, Forbes, etc. to use as a guide. I then apply via the company website. I have received calls and a few interviews but the competition is stiff. The feedback I am getting is that available positions with my expertise and qualifications - the recruiters are receiving between 400-600 resumes minimum. How can I make myself stand out? My resume and cover letter are good, and I think my interview skills are pretty good, too. I just haven't had enough open positions to apply to and therefore, "close the deal". It's so frustrating. Are there any other job boards out there, or is there something else I should be doing? I feel like it is really a numbers gain. The more positions I apply for - the better my chances. Any ideas?? I am getting so frustrated. :( I have also tried Craig's List, but they don't seem to have too many professional careers on there. Right now, I am lucky if I can find two positions to apply to per day - and apparently, so are 399 others applying to the same job. Yes - I have posted on Monster, Careerbuilder, and Hot Jobs. I get a lot of recruiters and work from home opportunities. I removed them from the board. Think about it logically - if there aren't enough jobs and too many people unemployed, employers here don't need to go looking for applicants. Applicants need to look for them.
Any jobs that are posted on careerbuilder.com reputable? Like From Frontier Publishing Inc., Testing & Careers w/US, and or American Data Group.
A good place to search jobs online? I find that a lot of the jobs on Monster and Careerbuilder are rubbish... does anyone know of a good site for real jobs and not 'work from home and make a million dollars an hour' type job. I have a BA in Journalism with a minor in writing, have worked retail for ten years.

Where can I search for jobs online? I've already tried CareerBuilder, Snagajob, Yahoo Hot Jobs and Monster. So please don't recommend those to me. Where else could I look? Thank you!
Do all of the major job portals (monster, hotjobs, careerbuilder, dice) = a big black hole? Isubmit hundreds of resumes and get very limited responses, if any. I have a strong resume and background, but it does not seem to help. Have no trouble selling myself either, just seem to be running into a brick wall with my results. Any thoughts/suggestions?
What should I write for my CareerBuilder resume title? I'm a college student (2nd year) and I'm looking for a slightly professional part-time job. I'm about to post my resume on CareerBuilder but I don't know what to write for my resume title. All the jobs that I have had are in the typical "part-time, in high school, after school" jobs.
