Hotjobs Knowledge Base
Why does yahoo hotjobs allow fake employers to post jobs on there website? Half if not all the of jobs on yahoo hotjobs are fake yes that's right fake even the big companies that claim to be hiring but once you apply you start receiving all types of spam and unwanted phone calls from telemarketers. Why do they allow people to do this? Aren't they suppose to scan the jobs before there posted?
Does anyone know why there is no "objective" section when using hotjobs to build your resume? I have built a resume on yahoo hotjobs using one of their premade layouts. You basically just plug in your information and it automatically puts the info into the resume format you selected from examples. The examples of the layouts include the "objective" section, but there is no objective section on the actual resume built. There is no place to login your objective information on any of them. It goes straight to the experience section at the beginning of the resume.
Has anyone ever gotten job offers by having a resume search-able on HotJobs? Also, on the Hotjobs site, if you hit the apply now button, most take you to the companies own website where you have to go through a lengthy process of applying and registering and reformatting a resume for whatever format they want. So, what does the HotJobs site actually do? Is it just to search jobs?
What happened to the yahoo hotjobs site? I used to get on all the time due to it has the jobs that are in the local paper. Now when I go to the site it goes to monster jobs instead which is totally unorganized and harder to find jobs in my area. Does anyone know?
Are all the survey jobs on yahoo hotjobs that just require survey-taking the real deal? I was looking on yahoo hotjobs and found this almost perfect job. The company name was vindale research and it said all you have to do is fill in surveys, play games, read e-mails etc. And you don't have to have any experience. I want to know if this is a total fake or the real deal. And if anybody knows of some jobs(that are real) having this descrition let me know. :)
Who to contact to write articles for Careerbuilder & Yahoo Hotjobs? I've looked around on these web sites and with my interest in journalism, I'm curious about writing career articles for them. I saw links like "contact us" but seems to lead to more of a customer service form. And I've also seen some "work for us" links on each, but all the job listings to actually work for Careerbuilder or Yahoo Hotjobs are technical or accounting.
Are you sick of the Hotjobs and Careerbuilder propaganda articles that are passed of as news? I cannot stand those articles that discuss "Hot jobs that are hiring in the down economy" or "Careers that pay over 50K." Have you ever read them? They are beyond ridiculous. Lots of them are pie-in-the-sky jobs that sound good, but really aren't the easiest or practical to get certified in. One job touted was "career counselor." So if I can't get a job, I'm going to become a career counselor and tell people what? Be a career counselor? I really want to complain somewhere about this crap.
Do you have better luck on Craigslist than yahoo Hotjobs? For months, I have not scored any jobs through hotjobs. Last Thursday a surprising phone came in from Craigslist from an agent. All I had to do is complete work history. Took me a while to finish it. I haven't had any response from yahoo hot jobs for over a year. Every day I look on internet looking for jobs. It's nothing out here. Today for instance, I a response from craigslist, zero from hotjobs.
Is it even worth applying for jobs at places like Monster, Hotjobs, etc? I'm a soon to be college graduate looking for work. I've heard that these giant job boards can be quite a crap shoot for job seekers due the high volume of candidates (I've heard 1000 applicants for a job isn't rare). Should I even bother applying to job postings on these sites or just pursue other avenues in my search?
does anyone know of any other job resources other then careerbuilder, monster, and hotjobs that i can use? I live in California and I am having a hard time finding a job, internship, or anything for that matter that I can simply gain experience, broaden my outlook, and career path. I am currently a student @ a community college, hopefully transferring in two semesters, and have a lot of chem, bio, math, and computer science classes under my belt. Any help would be most appreciated and thankful!
How do I retrieve my resume that was created on yahoo hotjobs? I need my resume that was created in hotjobs. Monsters took over. I have all my previous employer information on my resume that I need to update. I tried going on hotjob.com and it takes me to monsters. I don't need help with building or creating a resume just to retrieve it from yahoo hotjob that is now monsters.

Why do HotJobs, Monster, & CareerBuilder only offer jobs in hospitality, marketing, & sales? I can't seem to find what I qualify for. & also, you have to have good credit or have a good driving record. Or they always require SOME qualification I don't have. I have a learner's permit since I moved to Texas & have to take the driving test all over again. & they also want you to have a dependable car, which I don't have. & they want experience. I have almost no job experience.

Where do I start looking for a job? I graduate in 15 days and used Hotjobs and other websites with no luck.? I sent my resume to over 24 jobs in the Houston area and haven't had one repsonse yet. Where do I start looking? The career services at my university has jobs in the Dallas area only and I don't want to live there, so how do I actively find a job in a city that I do not live in? I work full time now while I am completing my degree and I do not want to leave my current position without finding a new job so I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Someone please give me some good advise.
Are there any free websites like Monster, Careerbuilder or Yahoo Hotjobs? I am looking for a career website that is free. One that allows you to post your resume so employers can browse through and contact you if interested. Ideally I would want it to be a national one so you can browse by different locations, but if this isn't an option maybe there are specialized websites containing jobs for the 2 main locations I would like to relocate to, which are New York City or Los Angeles as anyone with a brain bigger than the size of a pea (Frodo) could tell, I am obviously looking for more sites and am aware that the sites I listed are free
Why is hotjobs stuck on my location? I live in Cedar Rapids, IA. I tried to apply for a job on hotjobs and it keeps popping up the I need to enter a location, but, when I do it tells me that there are several and shows me a list of six that are exactly the same. I politely pick one, expecting to move on and again it asks me to choose a location, I go through the same and have been through every selection on the list. I would like to apply for a job here but how do I get past this error?
